Under his rule book

I really like the concept of the book but other than that book was disappointing. I liked the idea of, ‘The family,’ the religious ‘Cult’ and the secret community. On the top it, it was a dark suspense romance novel, which is my favorite genre.
Even the start of the
book was interesting; it built anticipation and trepidation in me, and couldn’t
wait to finish the book and unveil the suspense but when the actual part
started where the heroine was capture, on the orders of the hero, and fought
tooth and nail to get out of the captivity but every attempt failed. Till that
point, it was fantastic. The actual nonsense started when she gave up and the
elder women started punishing her and teaching the rules of the community.
"Caught by the devil.Taken by his henchmen.
Just to become … his"
The community was
divided between the patriarchs and
the commoners. The patriarchs lived in a huge temple like structure with
opulence. They actually live like some sultans in the Mughal period.
Whereas the commoners lived in huts in a very primitive way; they lived in small huts without electricity, small toilet without bathrooms, draw water from wells and the list goes on.
The actual nonsense was the marriage ceremony
where men claimed women like animals in front of everyone, among naked people
dancing like drunks. The patriarchs even chose the married women for their
pleasure. Gross.
The hero and the
heroine did not have any chemistry between them but the hero was hell bent to choose
the heroine as his wife.
"I was kidnapped
By the Family
Now I must obey
Him.
Every dark desires . . .
Has a price
But i will stop at nothing . . .
To find the truth in his lies.
The suspense part the book was that there was no suspense. Everything looked clear from the beginning that the heroine has some connection with this secret society, with the hero especially.
In the end she managed
to escape the settlement with one of the commoners and the book ended on a
cliffhanger. This story concludes in Beyond his Control book II
Cliffhanger: a text concludes suddenly or with a thrilling plot
twist, leaving big questions unanswered. It creates excitement among the
readers and drives them to buy the next installment. |
That was my genuine thoughts on the book. If I offended someone with my rude words then I’m regretful. I don’t like giving negative reviews but this one compelled me to do so. What can I say, in the end, it is the authors creativity. A writer works so hard on the book and I genuinely appreciate their dedication towards providing us with beautiful words.
